If you’re setting up a website, chances are you’ll use cPanel at some point. A control panel that allows you to manage your hosting account, cPanel can be used to install content management systems, check your bandwidth usage, and many other functions. Because of its relatively simple interface and regular improvements, cPanel is the most common control panel offered by hosting providers.

That said, any control panel can be confusing to navigate if you’re just starting out. If you need help with cPanel or encounter any other technical issue with it, here are the places you can go.

cPanel’s FAQ Section

Before you contact cPanel’s support team, make sure your issue hasn’t already been covered in their FAQ section. There, questions are arranged according to whom they concern (website owners or server administrators), and according to the topic (documentation, backup configuration, legacy backup, SSL troubleshooting), so you can check the ones most related to your issue.

If you don’t want to click each link individually, type your issue into the search bar at the top right corner of the page.

cPanel’s Forums

Alternatively, you can also refer to cPanel’s community forums. The threads are arranged according to topic and you can browse through them using the search bar at the top right corner of the forum.

To narrow your search, filter your keywords by thread title, thread poster username, and/or the date of the thread. Considering how many thousands of threads there are in the forum, the search bar is the most efficient way to navigate it.

cPanel’s Documentation Page

If you’re looking for an organized, comprehensive source on cPanel, log on to their documentation page. It has installation guides, video tutorials, release notes, info on the latest patches, and more. Like the FAQ and forums, cPanel’s documentation page can be easily browsed with the search bar at the top right corner of the screen.

cPanel’s Support and Customer Service

Can’t find what you’re looking for in the FAQ, forums, or documentation page? Open a ticket with cPanel’s support team. Take note that opening a ticket requires you to be a cPanel and WHM licensed user. Also, if you contact them immediately without looking at the above resources first, they will redirect you to the page relevant to your issue.

Other Possible Sources

Aside from the cPanel website, you can also search for help from blogs, third-party forums, and similar places. Keep in mind, however, that these sources aren’t always reliable as their authors may be biased, using a different version of cPanel, or simply don’t have the technical know-how to help you resolve your issue. You can take note of their advice, of course, but be sure to double-check with a professional just in case.

At the end of the day, your hosting provider is your best source of information for any issues with your hosting account. Before you consult anything or anyone else, contact your provider or cPanel’s support team first.
